Meal Service Week of May 10 - 14 Free curbside community meals for all children between the ages of 1 - 18 will be available for pick up at the below listed sites from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 11 & Friday May 14 : Central Middle School- 12801 L Street Millard North High School- 1010 South 144th Street Millard South High School- 14905 Q Street Millard West High School- 5710 South 176th Street Tuesday 5/11 Pick Up Curbside Community O rder Form - order cutoff time will be 5:00 pm on Monday 5/10 Breakfast and lunch will be provided for May 12- 14. Friday 5/14 Pick Up Curbside Community Order Form - order cutoff time will be 5:00 pm on Thursday 5/6. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for May 15 - 18. An individual submission must be submitted for each child requesting a meal. The meals are free to any child between the ages of 1 - 18 years, no pre qualifying information is necessary to participate. If you have any questions please call 402-715-1440. Weekend Meal Kits for In School Students Weekend meal kits for in school students will be offered on May 14. The weekend meal kits will provide breakfast and lunch for Saturday & Sunday. Students can pick up their meal kits at the end of the school day on Friday May 14 as they exit the school building. The meals are free to any child between the ages of 1 - 18 years, no pre qualifying information is necessary to participate. Two ways to receive the meal: Option 1 Families can submit a request through the weekend meal order form 5/14 for each student. Completing this order form will guarantee that the student(s) receive a weekend meal kit. The student can pick up the food from the satellite station (similar to grab n go breakfast) that will be setup in the building. Option 2 Students exiting the building can stop by the satellite station and pick up one available weekend meal kit per child. Un-reserved meal kits will be on a first come, first serve basis. The students have the option to grab a kit as they exit the building and staff will only need to mark the student as a tally. Additional Information: Free Meals FAQ Free Meals Information - Arabic Translation Free Meals Information - Spanish Translation Free Meals Information - Vietnamese Translation Dear Millard Families, To help families who are facing food shortages because of the ongoing pandemic, the USDA is providing free community meals between now and the end of the year, or for as long as funding lasts. They are also providing free lunch and breakfast to all Millard students, free of charge. More information is available below. Pursuant to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 (P.L. 116-127) U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced ( USDA Free Meals Press Release ) the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will extend several flexibilities through as late as December 31, 2020. The flexibilities allow free meals to be served to all children ages 1 - 18 into the fall months regardless on their status as an in-school learner, concurrent remote learner or those not yet old enough to attend school. This unprecedented move will help ensure – no matter what the situation is on-the-ground – children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. USDA has been and continues to be committed to using the Congressionally appropriated funding that has been made available. USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is extending a suite of nationwide waivers for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) through the 2020/2021 school year, or until available funding runs out. This includes: Allowing breakfast and lunch meals to be served at all schools and at no cost. Permitting meals to be served outside of the cafeteria. Allowing parents and guardians to pick-up meals for their children that are not physically present in school. This is a temporary flexibility offered by the USDA, families will still need to: Complete free and Reduced applications to receive applicable benefits outside of the school meals program and to continue meal benefits when the funding has been exhausted from the USDA. These flexibilities do not cover a la carte purchases; items such as individually purchased milk will require payment. Continue to have money on account for a la carte purchases. In School Students Millard students in school will have access to free breakfast and lunch immediately up through the remainder of the 2020/2021 school year or when USDA funds have been exhausted. Any reimbursable meals that have been purchased from September 1st through current will be reimbursed back to the student’s meal account.
